Moontucky Risin is not a country or even bluegrass band; don't let the name fool you. Really there isn't a single label that describes the music created by this group of musicians. MTR interweaves all the different styles and genres of music that have influenced them throughout their lives; from classic rock riffs to intricate psychedelic jams; blues to fusion; reggae and beyond. To just sum it up in a single simple phrase, Moontucky Risin is an organic groove oriented rock and roll jam band. Based out of San Diego California, MTR has been together in one form or another since 2003 with the latest line up playing thier first show on June 2, 2006 (This show can be downloaded from our Sights and Sounds page) and steadily becoming more active in the local music scene ever since. They have even been known to play the occasional party usually bringing their best qualities out keeping the scene moving and grooving all night long.
