A little bit of Opossum
November 2, 2008 - Check out our Sights/Sounds page for a video clip taken at the Ramona Main Stage a couple of weeks ago.
Been a busy Fall so far
October 26, 2008 - We've played at the Farmer's Market in Ocean Beach, in Ramona at a beautifully restored old movie theater and out in the desert during electric car drag races, not to mention all the shows we've played around town; and we have had a blast at each one, we hope all of you that came out in support had just as much fun. Check back for updates and additions to the web site that may or may not include some new audio downloads and a possible video clip. And of course have a safe and happy Halloween and we hope to see you all at our gigs in November. If you wish to receive emailed show updates from the band, you can send an email to CLICK ME and request to be added to the list.
Up North
September 21, 2008 - Thanks to all those that came out to support us at are first gig at The BellyUp in Solana Beach; we had a lot of fun as always and we hope you all did too. Our next gig is Thursday, October 2 at Winston's Bar in OB; another great stage to play on not to mention a good room no matter how you look at it. FYI... the Sights and Sounds page has been updated and includes a few shows and practices for download; check it out. Our current showcased show just happens to be our first gig with the current line up from almost two years ago. Keep checking back for more audio clips and possibly some video as well.
What A Summer
September 7, 2008 - Now that the shadows on the walls are changing and there is that slight crispness in the air that tells me Fall is around the corner, I reflect on this past summer. Hope you all had as great and productive of a summer as we did, we want to thank everyone that came out to all our various shows, we had a lot of fun and hope you all did too. This is not to say that we have any plans of slowing down. Besides the upcoming show at Winston's with The Blue James Band on October 2 and The Kick Gas Festival at the Barona Drag strip on October 12; we have a few in the works. We have started discussing our next recording venture, stay tuned for more news on that.
Breaking News
July 11, 2008 - If you have been keeping up with our calendar recently you probably noticed a few changes and revisions happen to it. The show at the 710 Beach Club next week got rescheduled due to a drastic mismatch in the styles of the other bands on the bill. It so happens that those other bands canceled so the 710 has asked us to fill in; and of course we said yes. It's a great club with a great sound system; how could we turn it down? As a bonus there will be no cover at the door and maybe even a few drink specials to take advantage of. We will also have tickets available soon for the show a the 710 Beach Club on August 6, details to come soon.
I just don't keep up on this enough!
June 15, 2008 - Good morning, afternoon or evening wherever you may be. Thanks to everyone who came out to Cane's last Thursday, your support doesn't go unnoticed. On behalf of everyone in the band I want to thank each and every one of you. Because of the great energy in the crowd the band really stepped up and showed just we are capable of. In fact, thanks to all of you we have already booked our second gig at Cane's on August 21. Currently we are ramping up for our next show this coming Wednesday at O'Connell's with our friends General Lee; this promises to be a fun evening of music. Hope to see you all very soon and Just remember my friends, being kind can be viral.
Past, Present and Future
April 24, 2008 - We have had a great past couple of months and we want to thank all of you that have come out to support us and to share in the fun; from Santee to PB down to the Gaslamp. The next show just happens to be on a Friday so for all of you that can never quite get out on a weeknight this is your opportunity. We are playing at Tio Leo’s on Friday May 23, this is the one on Napa Street near the Five and Eight. We can't wait and hope to see you all there.
HI, it's me again!
March 31, 2008 - It's been a while since our last piece of news has been reported so I figured it was time. A few things to mention first and foremost we would like to welcome Casey Seriphan to the MTR collective as the new keys player. Some of you may have noticed him on stage with us at the recent show at the Second Wind Bar, and you will be noticing him more in the future. Our next big show is this coming Thursday at The Bitter End downtown in Gaslamp. It's a Thursday and if you stay long enough it will be a Friday and that makes it OK to come out.
Summer Is Almost Here!
March 10, 2008 - Thanks to all those that came out to see us at Riley's Music Lounge this past Saturday, we had a great time and thanks to the other bands that were there with us as well. Don't forget to spread the word about Moontucky Risin, download our music from our Podcast page and share them with your friends. This Wednesday evening we are back at our favorite club in Santee The Second Wind to perform our version of Jesus Christ Superstar... Just kidding, but we will be performing an evening of Moontucky Risin songs along with a few of our favorite covers so come on out to East county, have a few beers and just maybe MTR will transform into a hip hop act like the last time we had the privilege to play this stage. And then April 3 we will be performing our first show at Backstage at the Bitter End in the Gas Lamp, this is bound to be a good time.
Yet another gig coming up
March 4, 2008 - We had a great time at O'Connell's last Wednesday evening, thanks to all those that came out. Even through some technical difficulties we still pulled it off and won some people over. Like at the Second Wind show, we had a member of the O'Connell's audience come up and beat box while we vamped. Up next we are at Riley's Music Lounge in Point Loma on Saturday, so if you're not doing anything come on out, have a few drinks and listen to good music.
Santee with a bit of Moontucky
February 25 , 2008 - Thanks to those who came out on a Sunday evening at The Second Wind Bar in Santee. As we have come to expect the sound was awesome and allowed us to show what can be expected of us. As an added feature one member of the audience got up on stage and through down some rhymes as we jammed behind it; it was a whole lot of fun! All and all It was a great night on stage and the room got it. Don't forget we are playing here in San Diego tomorrow evening at O'Connell's near Old Town on Morena Blvd, we hope to see some familiar faces.
Year of Moontucky
February 18, 2008 - With Dana out there spreading the news about Moontucky Risin using the new demo (that we recorded over the summer with Aaron at the engineering helm) as proof we are up for the challenge; we are starting to see some fruits of those labors. We have several shows coming up around town we are excited to announce. The first of which will find us out in East County back at the Second Wind bar in Santee on Sunday February 24. The following week we will be performing for our first time at O'Connell's on Wednesday February 27, and if you still have not had enough we will be back at Riley's Music Lounge in Point Loma on Saturday, March 8th. Hope to see you all out there, and if can not make these don't worry we have more gigs in the works so check back often for updates.
710 Beach Club show cancelled
January 28, 2008 - Due to booking issues Moontucky Risin will not be performing at the 710 Club on January 31. Look for us to be playing around the greater San Diego area in the very near future; let's just say the wheels have begun turning.
Not a bad start to the year
January 3, 2008 - We all had a great time with our first time ever on the Winston's stage, great sound and great energy. Thanks to all that came out the night after New Years, we couldn't have done it with out all of you. We would like to thank the Jukes Family for having us out, it was an awesome night of music. We look forward to our next gig with them at the 710 Club on January 31.
Happy New Years!
January 1, 2008 - We would all like to wish you all the very best for the new year that is now upon us. Hope you didn't get too messed up on New Years eve and you all saved a little room for some Moontucky Risin tomorrow evening at Winston's in OB.
Day After New Years?
December 16, 2007 - We are excited to announce that we have been asked to play at Winston's in Ocean Beach on Wednesday January 2 with The Jukes Family Band. What a way to start the new year off with some decent music at a great club. More details to come...
